Coral reefs are some of the most diverse and important ecosystems on our planet. Within these reefs, there are two main types of corals:
SPS (small polyp stony) corals and LPS (large polyp stony) corals, as well as soft corals.
SPS corals are known for their delicate, complex structures and vibrant colors, but can be challenging to keep in home aquariums due to their high light and flow demands.
LPS corals, on the other hand, have larger polyps and are generally easier to care for.
Soft corals, as their name suggests, have a more pliable and flexible structure, and can add a beautiful, flowing element to any reef tank.
Each type of coral plays an important role in maintaining the health and diversity of coral reef ecosystem
